“Do You Know What I Mean” is the newest single of the Indie Surf band Sun Smash Palace. It’s the first single of their upcoming EP as well as the first one since they moved from Seoul, South Korea to Luxembourg in 2021. The song is a mix of reverb-filled guitar riffs, catchy vocals and trumpet parts – with references to The Beatles, especially the subtle mellotron in the chorus as well as Oasis with the line: “I feel supersonic.”
It’s a song about the feeling of Promethean grandeur during travels – a feeling you somehow get despite staying in seedy places, meeting people you shouldn’t trust and taking too many risks. Fans of The Growlers, Skegss, Woods should give it a listen, or basically anyone who is looking for a song for their next beach holiday.
