January 28, 2021 – Minneapolis rising indie artist Landon Conrath didn’t think he’d be writing, recording, and producing his own songs. A drummer by trade, Conrath was encouraged by a friend to turn his ideas into polished works of art. Despite going viral on Spotify, signing a record deal, playing his first show to a sold-out crowd, and releasing his lauded 2021 EP Dazed & Confused, Conrath has always struggled with his own inner demons of self-doubt. Today, he opens up about an unhealthy relationship with a former collaborator in the new song “Last Week.”
Landon explains, “Last Week is about a person in my life who made me feel like I was constantly under their feet. We worked super closely together but I always felt like my ideas weren’t good enough and that I should just quit music in general. Whether it was truly a bad situation or if I just put those ideals on myself, this song illustrates with the struggles of self worth.”
“Last Week” is an honest account of how negative relationships can affect our mental well-being. Landon juxtaposes his cathartic lyricism with uplifting melodies, showing listeners that there’s always a way to heal.
