Michael Dunstan is a pensive folk writer from Western Australia, with a peaceful focus on all things bigger than us. Born and raised in the quaint Wheatbelt of WA, Michael’s career has seen the twenty-five-year-old expand his horizons as his music takes him around Australia and New Zealand. However, that doesn’t mean he’s left his regional roots in the dust. His laid-back attitude and preference for a slower pace of life are exemplified in his music, which is rooted in a mix of traditional folk and relaxed surf-rock styles. His lyrics are open and honest, and they seek to reflect on travel, serenity, and growth.
With a diverse catalog of “thoughtful, warm folk music that at once feels universal and intimate” (Music Feeds), Michael has swiftly sprawled his intricate songwriting globally since the release of his debut EP ‘Solace’ in January 2017. He followed up with the sophomore EP ‘Partly Cloudy’, brooding EP ‘New Normal’, and now an offering of perspective; the 14-track debut album ‘In The Grand Scheme’. To date, the releases have loyally garnered in excess of 7 million streams on Spotify alone.
